Processing, Integration, and Detoxification

Energy healing and essential oils can initiate a cleansing process that affects the physical body, as well as the mind and emotions. Toxins that have been stored in the body may be released along with negative energies, emotions, and thought patterns that are no longer useful. This does not always happen for everyone, but when it does, it is important to understand what is happening so you can support its completion. Don’t worry, it’s just part of the healing process and likely won’t last more than a day or two.

These experiences are an indication that healing is taking place.

You may feel better for some time - hours, days, weeks - and then start feeling back to your "normal" after a session.  This means that the process is working and more layers are trying to get your attention... and it's time for another session to release that next layer.

While they may be unpleasant, processing, integration, or detox symptoms are temporary and merely an indication that the technique is working and a sign that healing is taking place.

Energy detox is mild and short-lived and should resolve in hours or days. It is not an illness and is not a sign that the energy work is making you ill. It is not uncommon for pain or discomfort (physical or mental) to be relieved for a day or two and then seem to return. This simply means that there is more to clear or balance.

These symptoms are the effects of toxins being released from areas where they had been stored and are part of the process of releasing them from the body. Changes can also take place in the quality of your emotions and your consciousness, indicating the release of emotional toxins. Although symptoms are unique to each person, sometimes the process results in:

Regarding emotions that may have been found and cleared, not all emotions are trapped due to an extreme event. An event or situation can be brief and we may not remember anything about it. Emotions are based on our perception of an event or something in our life. This event could be powerful to us yet mean nothing to someone else.

Whenever change takes place, even when it is good, a period of adjustment is necessary so that the body and various parts of your life can get used to healthy new conditions. You may need more rest, and it can also be helpful to drink more water and spend more time quietly contemplating your life and any changes you might need to make to support a healthier lifestyle. You may want to write about what was cleared and what you learned from the experience.

It is important to be patient with yourself and others and to avoid non-beneficial stress (as much as possible) during your healing process. Approach these symptoms with the intent to process and integrate easily, gently, efficiently, and with love.
