Understanding Your Healing Process and Energy Detox
Energy healing and essential oils can initiate a deep cleansing process that affects the physical body, mind, and emotions. As your system clears, you may release stored toxins along with negative energies, emotions, and thought patterns that are no longer serving you.
While this doesn't happen for everyone, it’s a positive sign of healing when it does. Understanding this process is key to supporting its efficient completion.
Symptoms of Processing and Integration
Any unpleasant symptoms you experience—often called processing, integration, or detox symptoms—are temporary and a direct indication that the technique is working and healing is taking place.
Duration: Don't worry, detox is generally mild and short-lived, typically resolving within hours or a day or two. It is not an illness or a sign that the energy work has made you ill.
The Healing Cycle: It's common to feel great immediately after a session (hours, days, or even weeks) and then feel a return to your "normal" state. This doesn't mean the session failed; it means the process is working, and more layers are ready to be cleared. If symptoms return, it's often a signal that it's time for another session to address the next layer.
What You Might Experience: Symptoms are unique to each person but are the result of toxins and emotional energy being released from areas where they were stored.
emotional ups and downs
vivid dreams
trouble sleeping
fatigue
body soreness
headache
stomachache
weakness
sinus drainage
coughing
a rash on the skin
Supporting Your Body Through Detox
Whenever change takes place, a period of adjustment is necessary for your body and mind to acclimate to healthier new conditions. Approach these symptoms with patience and love, intending to process and integrate them gently and efficiently.
Hydration: Drinking sufficient water is crucial for flushing released toxins. A good rule of thumb is to divide your weight (in pounds) by two and drink that number of ounces of pure water every day.
Rest: You may need more rest than usual.
Contemplation: Spend more time quietly contemplating your life and any changes you might need to make to support your healthier, new lifestyle. Writing about what was cleared and what you learned from the experience can be very helpful.
Stress: Be patient with yourself and others, and avoid non-beneficial stress as much as possible during this healing process.
Respecting Processing Time
It is essential to understand that during a processing period, the subconscious will temporarily not allow for additional energy healing.
If you try to force a session while the body is integrating its previous work, you will likely receive confusing or inaccurate answers.
Trust the Test: If you muscle test, "Is there another trapped emotion I can clear now?" and the answer is "No," trust that response.
Schedule a Return: This pause is necessary. To maximize the effectiveness of your next session, muscle test to get an idea of how long the processing will take, and then schedule your next session after that time is complete.
